Phyllis Lee
VP,Content Development, CIS

Phyllis Lee is the Vice President of Content Development at the Center for Internet Security. (CIS). She has over 25 years of experience in information assurance and has performed vulnerability assessments, virtualization research and worked in security automation. Prior to joining CIS, Lee worked at the National Security Agency (NSA) focusing on the intersection between malware and virtualization, which included collaboration with MIT Lincoln Labs. Lee also participated in a variety of security automation standardization efforts and led the security automation strategy for the NSA Information Assurance Directorate (IAD). She graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Master of Science in Computer Science.

Rob Edwards is CEO/President of Maple Woods Enterprises, an RPO consultancy specializing in Cybersecurity, Compliance, and Risk. A veteran technology executive and retired U.S. Army Sergeant First Class, Rob is a CMMC Registered Practitioner, CISSP, and CISM. He leverages decades of experience leading diverse IT teams to develop practical security solutions. Dr. Leonard Simon
CISSP, Doctor of I.T

Dr. Leonard Simon is a Managed Security Services Manager, vCISO, and Senior Security Engineer at Compuquip Cybersecurity, a trusted provider of cybersecurity products and services that help enterprise partners address their network infrastructure and security architecture needs. Dr. Simon is also an adjunct professor at several universities, teaching a wide range of cybersecurity courses. Dr. Simon earned a bachelor's in IT from Florida International University, a master's degree in Management Information System and Security from Nova Southeastern University, and a doctorate in Information Assurance and Cybersecurity from Capella University. His dual role in industry and academia allows him to bridge the gap between real-world experience and education, helping aspiring IT professionals succeed in the field.

Josh Hoffman

Brian Hubbard

Brian Hubbard is a Lead Certified CMMC Assessor, CMMC Instructor, and President of Evolved Cyber. With over 40 years of experience, he has helped dozens of defense contractors and service providers build audit-ready cybersecurity programs aligned with CMMC and NIST SP 800-171. Brian also founded MSPCyberX, a nonprofit supporting MSPs navigating compliance in the Defense Industrial Base. A contributor to the original NIST Cybersecurity Framework, he brings a deep understanding of both technical implementation and assessor expectations. Brian regularly leads workshops, internal training, and peer groups focused on practical, cost-effective strategies for CMMC readiness and first-pass assessment success.

Ryan Patrick
VP, Market Research & Strategy, HITRUST​

Ryan Patrick brings over two decades of leadership in cybersecurity, risk management, and information technology. Currently serving in a senior leadership role at HITRUST, Ryan plays a key role in advancing trusted assurance programs and cybersecurity framework adoption across critical industries.

Before joining HITRUST, he was the Senior Vice President of Security at Intraprise Health, and held influential positions at MetLife and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where he led enterprise risk assessments and compliance initiatives aligned with HIPAA, ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, and PCI-DSS. His work has consistently focused on building scalable, trustworthy security and compliance programs that reduce risk and instill confidence.
